Appointments

Please note: Connected Health Alliance has relocated to the UOW Innovation Campus. We are practicing from an interim clinic space while we finalise completion of our custom built clinic.

Megan is currently on leave from clinical practice and will return in 2026.

Please visit Connected Health Alliance for all information on booking and waitlists.

Initial Medical Consultation
Face to Face (90 minutes)

Initial consults involve getting to know each other, reviewing your history and any previous results, performing a physical examination, organising investigations, and initiating early management as appropriate. Megan will ask you to identify your goals and priorities as you develop a plan moving forward.

Review Consultations

Face to Face or Telehealth

  • 60 minutes (Face to Face or Video)

  • 30 minutes (Face to Face, Video, or Phone*)

When you book your first appointment you will also be asked to book a 60 minute follow up appointment 6-8 weeks later - this helps reduce the chance of prolonged wait times after your initial appointment, and it is recommended you continue to book your reviews ahead of time.

Megan values having space to give all of your concerns the time they deserve and strongly prefers you continue to book 60 minute review appointments to enable high quality holistic care, however you will have the option to book 30 minute reviews after your first follow up if needed. This is most appropriate when your condition and care is stabilised, you only have one or two simple issues to discuss, or only want to review your results and do not require a more comprehensive review or management plan.
Please consider the complexity of your situation prior to making follow up appointments so there is adequate time to explore all issues appropriately.

*Note that Medicare rebates are limited to $42.85 for phone consultations regardless of the appointment time. Video consultations do not have this restriction.

Accessibility

Megan works with the Connected Health Alliance interdisciplinary team at the UOW Innovation Campus. The campus is a wheelchair accessible, and the current interim clinic is located on the ground floor of Enterprise 1 (Building 234), UOW Innovation Campus, Squires Way, North Wollongong NSW 2500

A metered carpark is located next to Enterprise 1 (Building 234), with limited disability parking. If you have a disability permit, you can park in any car space on campus at no cost.
There is a bus stop at UOW Innovation Campus which is serviced by multiple local council routes. The free Gong Shuttle service operates on a loop that connects the Innovation Campus with UOW main campus, Wollongong Hospital, Wollongong railway station, the city centre, Fairy Meadow railway station and the TAFE Campus. Buses travel in both directions on the loop.
The Innovation Campus is located between North Wollongong and Fairy Meadow railway stations. Fairy Meadow station is approximately a 15 minute walk from the campus, and the free Gong Shuttle stops here.

Disabled and gendered bathrooms are available on the ground floor of the clinic building.

Please bring any aids or assistive technology (including sunglasses, ear plugs/noise cancelling headphones, fidgets etc) to make yourself as comfortable as possible during your visit. Megan does not use overhead lighting or wear perfumes. Within the consult room the temperature and other sensory inputs can be adjusted as needed.

Please ask reception if you require a private quiet room while you wait for your appointment.

Usual intake appointments with Megan are at least 90 minutes in duration - if you require shorter appointments for pacing or accessibility, please speak to reception about alternative arrangements. You may like to have a shorter visit to the clinic and continue the intake via telehealth from home, or spread your visit over multiple days. You are welcome to sit, lay down, or move around however you need during your appointment.

Telehealth appointments are available via video and phone, however there are some conditions applicable to access Medicare rebates. You must attend face to face for your first visit, and at least 12 monthly ongoing to receive Medicare rebates for telehealth appointments. As noted above, phone rebates will be limited to $42.85 for phone appointments regardless of the appointment time.

Please talk to reception about any accessibility concerns.

Consult Fees

*Once your out-of-pocket expenses reach the Extended Medicare Safety Net threshold in a calendar year, you will receive an additional rebate of 80% of out-of-pocket costs.

  • Concession & Family Tax Benefit A Threshold: $881.80

  • Non-Concession Threshold: $2,544.30

You can check your safety net status by calling Medicare or using the Medicare app.

**90 minute appointments for new patients include an additional 1-2 hours of non-clinical work. This involves review of your intake assessment, questionnaires, clinician letters and/or results, as well as correspondence with your treating GP to provide a summary of your assessment and management plan. Your case will also be discussed at our Connected Health Alliance interdisciplinary team case conference for 40+ minutes, which allows input and management planning from multiple health disciplines providing you with a well rounded comprehensive treatment plan.

Consult fees are calculated based on a rate of $100 per 15 minutes. If we go over time in your appointment there may be a higher charge. Note that the Australian Medical Association (AMA) recommends Specialist GPs charge $108 for the equivalent consult time which is necessary to support the costs involved in delivering typical general practice care. This does not reflect the time and cost required to provide a specialised service such as hypermobility healthcare.

Medicare rebates are not designed to cover the cost of healthcare, but to provide you with partial financial assistance for the medical care you require. The government has failed to provide adequate increases in the Medicare rebate for many years and does not value comprehensive care as evidenced by the reduced rebate for longer consults. Please contact your local MP to advocate for improved primary healthcare funding, especially for complex chronic illness that often requires frequent access to healthcare, extended consults, and large interdisciplinary teams.
Modernise Medicare is an AMA campaign hoping to address this issue and has a pre-written email you can send to your MP to support this.
